This mind-boggling covert program was called "Project Preserve Destiny" whose stated objective was to maintain communications with extraterrestrials in spite of a forthcoming breakdown in all world radio and other electromagnetically-based communications. "Comms" with ETs (at least in this project) were done telepathically using a sophisticated computer monitor. Sgt. Sherman was told the NSA had identified him as having "special" abilities (much like the remote-viewers so much in today's headlines) that -- under the protocols of this secret course -- would make him an "Intutitive Communicator". This was an 8-10 week course at Ft. Meade after his daytime training in another secret but conventional field. |
|
After training, Sherman's PPD duties were "veiled" by conventional top-secret duties at two Air Force bases. While at work he would receive notification (apparently psychic) that a communication was about to begin. He would then open a special 'blank' window on the computer terminal and would type the communication into it. He would close the window and the information would be sent to an unknown destination. The contents of the "comms" were mostly numbers. He did not understand most of them but some he recognized as coordinates. His job was analogous to a communications officer on a ship receiving morse code but with no more depth and greater exchange between the parties. H never saw any aliens ... only communicated with them "intuitively".
He said during his last few months he started to receive what he perceived to be abduction data. This is when he started having questions and desired to quit the program. His request was repeatedly denied and he eventually had to conjure up a phony "homosexual" story to get discharged. He is married. He served over 12 years in the Air Force at the time of his discharge. He was recognized for heroism and received the AF Commendation medal and AF Achievement Medal with 2 oakleaf clusters. He also received the AF Outstanding Unit Award with 3 oakleaf clusters as well as being honored for service in the Persian Gulf War. |
|
One of the most unsettling parts to this whole story is he was told by a captain in charge of his indoctrination into the program that he (and others) were prepared for this role by the aliens before his birth. Apparently during an abduction of his mother in 1963, his genetic structure was slightly altered to allow him to receive alien communicatoins (after special training including specific drugs to turn 'ON' these abilities). He was assured he was completely "human" for this added ability. Like Bob Lazar stating he could vouch for what he worked-on "with his hands" but not what he read in government briefings, Mr. Sherman said he did exchange thoughts with what he perceived to be non-human entities. But since he never physically saw them, he can't vouch for the Air Force's story. Nor can he substantiate what this captain said about this secret genetic-alteration program. [In fact he said at times the captain's remarks were almost "canned", sounding like rehearsed lines. Maybe the captain was just another player in the game, reciting what he was told to by his superiors.]
Sherman says he shows no evidence of psychic ability apart from communication with these aliens. Sinceleaving the military, he has received no further "comms" and has had no further contact with his previous government contacts in the group. No government agents have threatened him to keep quiet but he fears that any improper disclosures of his "conventional" top-secret job could get him in trouble. |
|
He says that his communication with the aliens was two-way. He calls them complex creatures. He says that although he cannot describe them visually, "mentally they are rigid, disciplined and most unemotional". He did sense compassion from them, however. "It was almost like this was their nature but they overrode this characteristic because they felt it was a weakness." An alien told him that they had been visiting Earth "since the beginning". "They had made their presence known at some time in the past to our ancestors and that the whole thing went haywire somehow. So they have chosen to remain selective in their revelations since. They impacted 3 historical cultures. Which ones they didn't say, but I have extrapolated based on other information. I was never told what 'event' would take place in the future when electromagnetic communications would cease to work, but I have my own ideas on other information I've learned over the years."
By coming forward now, Mr. Sherman hopes his story will encourage other insiders to do likewise. "The information I have come forward with is important in the sense that someone has to start talking ... someone from the inside. 'Preserve Destiny' is only one of many alien projects that I suspect the U.S. government -- as well as other governments -- are heavily involved with. In releasing to the public what I know, I have tried to take a stand against the keepers of the 'grey flame' within the sacred halls of the NSA, CIA, USAF, NRO and other agencies. Hopefully this will open the door for other insider to peer through and feel more comfortable stepping out into the light of day. If not, 'they' will continue to suppress the most fascinating aspects of our own existence ... that others exist !" |

[ my notes: At his http://www.ufomind.com site, Glenn Campbell had published an extensive set of personal, conference-call with others, on-line chat, and newspaper/magazine interviews with Mr. Sherman. Fortunately I printed these off because Glenn has since consolidated his site and could not archive all of his materials (this set being of those). If there is a pressing need, I can either manually transcribe Glenn's stuff into MS-Word documents or I can scan them in as a photo image and fax them off. Email me on this and we can decide if it's necessary.
Mr. Sherman has graciously allowed a FREE download of his "Above Black" book at http://www.aboveblack.com . You can browse the first 4 chapters for free before deciding if you like. The entire book is a "steal" at only $9.95 . There are similarities between Mr. Sherman's "abilities" and the more widely read-about "remote-viewing" psychic spies (such as exposed by former Army Ranger Major David Morehouse at http://www.nexusmagazine.com/psispy1.html ) . Morehouse said everyone has some innate psychic abilities, but it usually takes a freak accident (e.g., a blow to the head) to "activate" them. The CIA and DIA tried experiments with drugs and ELF waves to "awaken" these abilities in 'normal' agents who already had secret clearances. They reported some limited success but with the good came come bad side-effects. While the U.S. historically emphasized intelligence-gathering in their R-V programs, the Soviets experimenting trying to psychically "influence" people (they even once loaded the front rows in an auditorium with r-v's trying to psychically disrupt the play in a world championship chess match of a Soviet defector) .
I have some trouble accepting what the captain told Sgt. Sherman about a joint ET-government genetic-alteration program of selected embryos and then track them down later. This is reminiscent of the "Ripe program" in the movie "Scanners". On the subject of movies, Morehouse said one of the reasons he quit the DIA's program was that they were training him to be an "assassin" rather than an intelligence-gathering tool. He didn't feel this was the job of a decorated career soldier. This was the dominant theme in the movie "Dreamscape" starring Dennis Quaid. The return of abductees in "Close Encounters of the Third Kind" was rumored to be what actually happened at Holloman AFB. "The Matrix" is reflective of research at Los Alamos and Sandia nuclear laboratories attempting to view "alternate worlds" and "parallel universes" and define the nature of 'reality' itself and possibly change the past in alternate time-lines.
And of course, lastly it could be argued that this was an experiment by the government to see how receptive people could be made to believing outrageous- sounding events by ingesting certain drugs and transmitting mind-controlling frequencies (either directly through RF or subliminally through a passive computer monitor) such as was done by the CIA's "MK-ULTRA" and parts of the Montauk Project. ] |

The Man In The Glass (Dale Wimbrow, 1895-1954) When you get what you want in your struggle for self, and the World makes you king for a day; Just go to the mirror and look at yourself, and see what that man has to say. For it isn't your father or mother or wife whose judgment upon you must pass; The fellow whose verdict counts most in your life is the one staring back from the glass. Some people might think you're a straight-shootin' chum and call you a wonderful guy; But the Man in the Glass says you're only a bum if you can't look him straight in the eye. He's the fellow to please -- never mind all the rest! -- for he's with you all the way to the end; And you've already passed your most dangerous test if the guy in the glass is your friend. You may fool the whole World down the pathway of years and get pats on-the-back as you pass; But your final reward will be heartache and tears ... if you've cheated the Man in the Glass ! |
